Doug Gates, M.D.
Board Certified OBGYNDr. Gates received his medical training and OB-Gyn residency at Loma University School of Medicine and Medical Center in Southern California. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Gates is passionate about making every birth experience joyful and memorable. If you are the father, don’t be surprised if he puts gloves on you and puts you to work helping deliver! He has been helping families grow in Southern Illinois since 1995.
During his off hours, Dr. Gates may be found spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His hobbies include planting trees and maintaining his yard, learning other languages and travel.
Andre Bobo, M.D.

Raised in Macon, Georgia, Andre Bobo knew at a young age that he wanted to become a physician. Andre graduated from Clemson University and Morehouse School of Medicine. As he completed medical school, his passion for surgery, obstetrics
In his spare time, Andre is an avid sports fan. He enjoys watching all types of sports but he especially loves watching college and professional football. GO
Andrea Humphrey, M.D.
Board Certified Family MedicineDr. Humphrey completed her medical school training and a residency in Family Medicine at Southern Illinois University in Springfield . She practiced general family medicine with an emphasis in women’s health, including obstetrics, and pediatrics first in Wisconsin and then with SIU Family Medicine Residency in Carbondale . She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She provides low risk obstetrical and gynecological care to her patients. In the community, she has served as the Medical Director for Pregnancy Matters since 2008.
Kathy Osman, FNP
Board Certified Family Nurse PractitionerKathy received her Master’s Degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Southern Indiana at Evansville, Indiana. She is board certified by the American College of Nurse Practitioners and a long time member of the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses and the National Honor Society of Nursing. Kathy instills a holistic approach to women’s health care while providing obstetric and gynecological care for women throughout their lifetime. Pastimes include football (both professional and kid related), landscaping (planting anything that blooms!), and, most of all, family time.
Terri Twenhafel, APN
Board Certified Woman’s Healthcare PractitionerTerri received her Nurse Practitioners training at the University of Wisconsin, Planned Parenthood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is board certified by NCC as a Woman’s Healthcare Practitioner. She is also registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in OB/Gyn. She is a member of the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses, North American Menopause Society, American College of Nurse Practitioners and Association of Woman’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Terri’s focus is in caring for women throughout their life-span. She enjoys working with patients to help them work towards their best health.
Alyssa has been with New Horizons since January of 2015 and thoroughly enjoys her position as Practice Manager. She attended John A. Logan College for a certificate as a medical clerk. She has experience with all administrative tasks, having held positions such as an Administrative Assistant and Office manager in both the legal and business fields.
In addition to her duties as Practice Manger, Alyssa is also active in many organizations at her church and in her community. She administrates a program that reaches out to the youth in her community providing a place of fellowship, a hot meal, and spiritual growth.
Alyssa enjoys working with people and has strong organization and communication skills.
